You drink water to be healthy
The KOR ONE is designed to keep it that way
Promoting Healthy lifestyles is a critical part of KOR’s mission. We all know that proper hydration is crucial to health, yet the way you consume matters too. By relying on conventional or single use bottles, people unknowingly expose themselves to a variety of health risks. The KOR ONE was created to reduce or eliminate these risks. Its one more reason that its Water ReDesigned.
BPA-FREE MATERIALS
Most refillable water bottles are made of Polycarbonate (PC), even though scientists have known for years that Bisphenol-A (BPA), a chemical used in the PC manufacturing process, leaches into whatever liquid goes inside. BPA is a known hormone-disruptor that's been linked to birth defects. Mounting evidence suggests that even small quantities pose major health risks.
In our exhaustive search for a health-safe material, we evaluated glass, acrylic, and many other substances. In 2006, we found that Eastman Chemical was developing a new material that featured the clarity and performance of polycarbonate without the dangers of BPA. We’re thrilled to partner with Eastman in featuring this new material, Tritan™, in the KOR ONE Hydration Vessel.
NO SUCH THING AS A FREE REFILL
Refilling single-use bottles may be tempting from a cost and environmental perspective, but it's a bad idea for your body. Bacteria build up quickly in these bottles, and their narrow mouths make them hard to clean. Many are made from PET plastic (short for polyethylene terephthalate), which is not designed for re-use. Studies have shown that PET leaches potentially harmful amounts of antimony and other chemicals, especially as the bottle breaks down from re-use.
YOU ARE WATER
Your body contains up to 70% water, and every metabolic system depends on water. Even minor dehydration can have significant effects, ranging from fatigue and headaches to indigestion and muscle cramps.
LET IT GO TO YOUR HEAD
Next time you get sleepy in the middle of the day or feel a headache coming on, drink some water before you resort to coffee or aspirin. Research shows that even slight dehydration can make you feel sleepy, and because the brain is 70% water, even a minor water deficiency can cause a headache.
ATHLETIC SUPPORTER
You've heard it before – you need eight glasses of water a day. More if you're exercising. It doesn’t take much of a workout to work up a thirst. Whether it's keeping you from tiring out or from cramping up, water gives you the edge no sports bar alone can offer. What's more, the fluid that keeps your muscles and joints happy and lubricated during exercise is mostly water. So drink up – before, during, and after exercise – because workouts won’t work out without water.
HIGHWAY TO HEALTH
Water keeps vitamins and other nutrients distributed throughout the body. It delivers the good and helps remove the bad, from lactic acid to dead cells and toxins that would otherwise slow you down or worse. Drinking plenty of water is crucial to avoiding infections and disorders like kidney stones and bladder, kidney, and urinary tract infections. These systems rely on a steady flow of water to remain healthy. And a well-hydrated stomach is essential to digestion.
WE HEART WATER
Research has shown that people who drink more than five glasses of water a day are less likely to die of a heart attack or heart disease than people who drink less than 16 oz. a day.
